Fridays Challenge

Actually I did nothing about the challenge today. I forgot, unless you want to count using a pore cleansing strip while I cleaned the bathroom.
Just another busy day, Honey went to my in laws for awhile to play with her visiting cousins and I planned to spend that time cleaning bathrooms and doing some things around the house. Instead I got to speed clean the bathrooms, and nurse the grump kin. Nap time was spent straightening and a few minutes sewing.
1 more day to the challenge, and I don't know if I'm going to make it!

Thursdays challenge

I went grocery shopping today, and it took me longer than I thought, and I came home with a fussy boy. I think he's teething again, because he's normally very content. Hmm, have to think on that.
Anyway, though I went shopping in the morning, by the time I got home, the bags brought in, the munchkins fed, and napping, I was yet again left with not much time. I put groceries away, and loaded the dishwasher, all while lamenting the fact that I have the sewing bug, and my machine is in the basement. Oh,* duh*, bring it up. I really dislike having it out all the time, but I figured if I made the area look nice, I could live with it invading the dining area. It turned out pretty well. The towel I have covering my machine is part of a set of 7 my friend gave me, and the inspiration for my kitchen decor. 3 of them are draped over a curtain rod for curtains, and 3 more will shortly be covering the openings on the butcher block cart that holds the printer and computer stuff.
They had been there before, but the double-sided Velcro quit sticking, and I need to come up with a better method.
I'll try to get some pictures of the kitchen posted next week, but its going to be another busy canning week.

Wednesdays challenge

Because yesterday was menu planning/grocery list day, and it is one of my least favorite tasks ( I like looking for recipes, and fret because all the ones I want to try require ingredients I don't have and I try to keep my grocery spending down), I decided to beautify it. I made myself an iced coffee, put on my Pride and Prejudice CD, and in about 20 minutes had everything finished.
Notice my way cool vintage table cloth I got last week at the flea market. Perfect condition, $15 and goes with my vintage produce label/advertisement theme perfectly.

BTW, because dear New Mom thinks I never sleep, I do really, I just can't figure out how to change the time on my blog, so ignore whatever it says ;0}

Tuesdays Challenge

Well, its only Wednesday morning, and I'm already failing my own challenge.
We didn't get home 'til 1 pm. and after I got Honey fed and down for a nap, Biscuit decided he wasn't going to be happy unless he was being held. He finally went to sleep around 2:30, and B. came home at 3 , so that left me a half hour to finish straightening from the night before, and try out my new makeup I got at The Mart. Physicians Formula Mineral powder and their under eye corrector (to jump subjects, its not even 6 am right now, and the air just clicked on-can we say hot?)- so I did meet my challenge by touching up my makeup before B. came home, but all my grand plans are coming to nought. I should've thought ahead a bit more before choosing this week as my challenge week!
I'll try to get those pillows in though New Mom!

Mondays Challenge

(I'm posting Tuesday, just in case you couldn't figure that out yourself;0P ) Monday I was pretty busy, as my parents came over for their birthday dinner. Their birthdays aren't actually until next week, but my sister is leaving to go back to Mozambique around that time, so we celebrated yesterday.
Steak on the grill, Parmesan, rosemary, and garlic french fries, salad, sauteed mushrooms, orange jello pretzel salad, and strawberry lemonade. Dessert was ice cream "cake" made with ice cream sandwiches.
That said, all I got to do was pick flowers, and I made the bed slightly different, which looked nice, but lacked function, as pulling back the bed spread and top sheet resulted in the bottom sheet coming off as well. Oops.
Lots of ideas for today, but I have a yearly Dr. visit, and that is going to cut a nice chunk out of my day. Maybe I'll get to making some throw pillows like I've been wanting to for- Oh the last 6 months or so.

Everday Beauty Challenge

I'm getting a bit tired of the everyday of things. Not that I'm displeased with being a homemaker, but just the fact that everything around the house is the same 'ol same 'ol.
So, I'm issuing myself an everyday beauty challenge for the coming week, and I'm inviting you to join me.
For the next week I will do at least one thing everyday to make my home, or me prettier. It might be something as simple as touching up my makeup and putting on a squirt of perfume before Mr. B. comes home or picking flowers for the dining table, to as big as rearranging a room ( I doubt that will actually happen) or cleaning out all the closets. Just something to brighten/perk things up around me.
I'll post what I've done, and pictures if applicable, and I would love to see what you've done.
Now, who's with me?
