Good morning - this is Bonnie's cousin Sarah. Just got word that Baby Boy (no official word on the name yet) made his appearance around 4:45am today (Wednesday, August 22), weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds, 13 ounces!!! She ended up being induced last night due to high blood pressure.
More details when I know them!

Hey Anybody still checking in!
Our computer bit the dust, so until we are able to get a new one, you won't be hearing from me.

Hey ya'll, just wanted to let you know I'm taking an Internet fast this week.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I'll be back next Monday.

Yahooooo!!!
B. gave me an early birthday present. I guess I was moping more than I realized. I am now the proud owner of a Sony Cyber Shot camera. I am SOOOO excited!
Now, if only I had 2 seconds free from nose wiping, I could figure out how to hook it up to the computer...
Yay! I have a camera again!

Muffin

(for some reason, it doubled all the photos, but since they took nearly an hour to load, I'm going to leave them)
My were we surprised! Muffin arrived Friday, November 14,2008 at 2:23PM.
She weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. was 20 inches long, and has a full head of wispy hair (to quote her big sister).
I can't remember where but there is a verse in the Bible about the Lord laughing at mans plans. He must've read my blog and gotten such a kick out of MY plans that He
decided to stir things up.
Thursday (the 13th) was my appointment with the OB to discuss induction and determine if Baby was head down or not. We ended up just talking about what would need done of the baby was not in position, and he sent me off to another office post-haste for an ultra sound. Whew. After what seemed to be the worlds longest U/S in the worlds smallest room, I went on my happy way, confindant in the knowledge that Baby was indeed head down, and thinking blissfully of all that I needed to do in the next few weeks. (this is where God started laughing)
An hour after I arrived home the phone rang and it was the Dr. "Bonnie?" "Yes?"
"How do you feel about having your baby tonight?" "Are you serious?"
He was. The cyst on the cord had doubled in size in the last month, and since they knew nothing about what was causing it, I was considered full term, and baby was in position, he wanted to induce ASAP. I hung up and started shaking like a leaf. I don't like having my plans turned on their head. I like to know whats going on and be prepared. My sister was already here so, after our traditional pre-baby dinner of Chinese take-out (just dumplings and an eggroll this time), B. and I headed off to the hospital.
We didn't have the baby Thursday night. I hadn't thought about the fact that while baby was ready to come out certain things had to be sped up with outside help. My midwife and the nurse (who we got a huge kick out of when she asked me if I needed to go potty before I went night-night. She had twin 3 year old boys)got all that going, and in the morning they told me I could shower, and eat breakfast before they started Pitocin. HOT DOG! I get to start clean, rested and full. The nusre had me measured at 1 cm when they started the PIT. The Dr. thought I should be further than that after the other stuff done, and when he checked me an hour later, said I was at 5 cm. And Baby was breech. After going over all the options, yada yada, we decided to try turning the baby, but I had to be prepped for an ermergancy C-section as a precaution. Then they turned her. A doctor on each side of me pushing her head or bottom. I cried. Hard. It hurt like you would not believe. But it worked.
Fast forward about 2 hours and they were trying to make me comfortable since the epidural only made my left leg numb. They kept asking if I felt like I needed to push. The midwife had just finished saying I was at 8 cm. and B. said "Be ready she goes fast once she's at 8!" When I had to push. NOW. Boy was there a scramble! B. said the actually had to hold the babies head in to get the table down and a cloth on it! Rachel was born less than 10 minutes after I measured 8 cm. And she came out with her left foot by her HEAD. The cyst looked innocent enough, but they are doing a biopsy anyway.
And now we are home. I feel great, this has been the easiest recovery. THe kids LOVE her, and she is an easy baby. And so tiny after9lb. 4oz. and 8lb. 14oz. babies.
Thats it for now, I am tired and it took forever to type all this, be back later, with a few more pictures.

Down
Hey Ladies-
I'm nursing a abscessed tooth right now, I'll be back when I feel like a human being. (Which shouldn't be to long- it was drilled yesterday, and I'm on antibiotics now)
Talk at ya later!

Three Little Words...

I am only 16 weeks and 3days, but yesterday, at my appointment, the mid-wife couldn't get a heart beat. She thought she found it a few times, but couldn't get anything definite, so she sent me off for an emergency ultrasound. Not how I would have picked to find out, and thank you Lord for keeping me calm. Everything is fine, the tech thinks I have fibroids, and that was keeping the M.W. from hearing anything.
She asked if I wanted to find out what the gender is,and that took me about a second to decide-wait another month or know now? Now. Honey is beside herself with excitement! I was trying to keep it hush-hush 'til B. got home and we could tell her, but she's a smart little cookie and after hearing my MIL (who was watching the kids) talking, she later asked with big eyes and an excited whisper "Mommy, am I going to have a sister?" when I told her yes, it looks like it she threw her arms around my neck and squeezed for all she was worth. " I am SOOOOO excited! I am going to have a sister!"
She's been hugging my knees every now and then since and saying the same thing, and telling everyone at the grocery store.
I hope to be back on later this weekend with a few more posts, but as it has finally warmed up, and is gorgeous outside, I don't know that that will happen.
Too-da-loo!

Its Up and Running!
But it only has 4 recipes right now. But they are new.
http://crabapple-kitchen.blogspot.com If this doesn't link, just copy and paste in the bar thingy above, and it should take you there.
I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to happen, I tried to get into it Tuesday, but the power went out. Then Wednesday, I tried for over an hour to get into my account, and it kept telling me I didn't exist. Finally, this morning, I was able to reset my password (and I wrote it down, in a stroke of genius), and here we are.
I will be adding more recipes next week, some brand new, and some that have been posted here, so stay tuned.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you make something, comment on how it turned out, and any changes you made 'cuz I want to know, and somebody else might too!

What Shall I Name the New Blog?
I am currently trying to come up with a name for the forthcoming recipe blog. I've been stashing away lots of recipes, and pictures to go along with them, and I need to get moving on this.
So far, I have thought of ( in no particular order): Crabapple Kitchen; Crabapple Cookery; Mrs. Bonnie's Kitchen; and Mrs. Bonnie's Kitchen Table. Any thoughts? I am open to suggestions too.

A Short Break
Just wanted to let you know that I'm taking a blog break this week. I know I'm not an everyday poster anyhow, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
I've got 2 flats of strawberries, a qt. of blueberries, 4 lbs. of cherries, and 3 mangoes that need to be turned into jam, or frozen, and also a number of sewing projects that need to be finished. This weekend will be busy with a family party, and a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law.
I'll be back Monday, hopefully with lots of pictures.
Tootles!

I finally figured out how to load only one picture from our camera, instead of all of them- I am so excited! However, the computer is being a bit stinky right now, and won't let me put the picture up :o( so, I'll have to try again later.
