...and other tales from my week.
And what an interesting week its been. Last Saturday, I did some shopping, and scored a green leaf print fabric for new pillow slips for the family room. I had a blue homespun on them, but wanted something fresh for spring and summer. I also found a $4 denim jacket at the thrift store, that was exactly what I wanted. More of a blazer style than jackety looking. Best of all, I don't think it was ever worn! Brady didn't go to sleep that night 'til around 1am, so I had to prop my eyelids open for church the next day. Sunday evening, we attended a Purim service at my in-laws church (they are not Jewish, or Messianic Jews, but there church celebrates alot of Jewish holidays), it was really nice.
Monday was one of those wonderful days in which everything falls into place, and goes just great.
Tuesday, not so much. Both babies were cranky, Mommy was cranky, and everything took forever to do. Then IT happened. I let the dog out in the afternoon as I always do. I must mention here that Mr. B. had the dog several years before we were married, so the dog tends to look at me as an equal, and not an "alpha", and therefore, chooses when to listen to me. He would not this day. I called and called and he would look at me, then wander off again. When he did finally come, I noticed a bit of fragerance in the air. It got stronger and more offensive as he came closer. You guessed it(probably). Skunk. I think he just found a dead one and couldn't resist investigating. I was furious and tied him up on the porch, intending to have Mr. B. wash him when he got home. But, being the thoughtful wife that I am, and knowing how busy and stressed out my poor husband has been preparing to lead our churches mens retreat this weekend, I pulled out the tomato sauce, baking soda, and water and did it myself. Mind you it was only about 25 outside. Not great bath weather. Going to make dinner that night I discovered the jar of pesto I had just bought was unsealed, and had to be thrown out. It would be one of the main ingredients too.
Wednesday, right after Mr. B. came home from work, the sherrif came knocking with questions about the neighbor family in reguards to a missing woman and children from the next county over, who attend the neighbors homechurch.
Friday, I had several friends over for a movie night, while Mr.B. was at his retreat. We had a wonderful time, and sang along with all the songs from 7Brides for 7 Brothers. I also rearranged the living room, and nearly finished my $9.00 kitchen makeover.
This morning, I went little local thrift store, and got a dozen assorted doilies, dresser scarves, and napkins for under $4!
So that is the news from Crabapple Pond, now, baby needs fed, and I need to get tonights soup started(recipe to come).
Have a blessed Lords Day!
