Surprises, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Prep

I'm sure you're wondering why I'm posting a picture of my stove. Well I'll tell you. As you can see, I only have 2 burners and the grill thing ( which in almost 4 years of marriage, I've never used.). I'm sure you can imagine the occasional difficulties of cooking with only 2 burners, but I'm used to it. The week before Thanksgiving, our TV croaked, and B. wanted me to pick out a cabinet for the new one ( I could've been TV free, but he wanted it). He mentioned needing to stop at Sears and mumbled something about a tool belt first. The kids were sleeping when we got there, so I stayed in the car with them, while he went in.
Nearly half an hour later, he finally came back out and called me to come to the back of the car to help him. Imagine my surprise and delight when I found him opening the box and asking me if he had the right color burner unit!

Hooray! I now have 4 burners! Thanksgiving and canning will be so much easier!
Speaking of Thanksgiving, it went wonderfully, and everything was very good.

I didn't get any photos of the food, but above you can see the table. The table cloth was a $3 bed sheet from Wal-Mart, napkins from fabric I had, and the place cards were leaves from the back yard that I stamped with every ones name, then placed in the phonebook so they would dry flat. My MIL brought the flowers, and I placed votive candles in apples and added acorns down the center.

Leftovers anyone?

Lastly, here is the dog and Honey excitedly watching the first sticking snow come down. She came running in the kitchen yelling "Mommy, it's snowing a big one!" (translated "allot"). I know the picture is sideways, however I'm to lazy to fix it, and wait for it to load again, so just tilt your head to the side!
Except for the porch, all my Christmas stuff is up and out. B. gave me my present early- a new minivan! It's beautiful, and gives us room to move our elbows!
Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving-
Bonnie

What a creative way to hold a votive candle. Hmmm... getting a little spoiled there... a new stove top AND a minivan! How awesome for you though, it's so nice to have the extra space in the vehicle to drown out backseat noise!

Wow, how wonderful about your new gifts!!! I can hardly imagine cooking with two burners...although actually we did it all the time in Israel. I guess I'm getting spoiled here!

I haven't even started with the Christmas decorations. After all, it's still November, right? No need to hurry? :) But I do love getting the Christmas stuff out. I just have to wait until I actually have some energy before I start that project!

Wow, lots of nice gifts for you! Matt will have to laugh at Tops about the minivan - he claims he will never ever buy one. :-P

When did Honey's hair get so long and curly? I love it! Can't wait to see you all soon...
