Playing Hooky

It looks very much like this recycled picture from last year right now, so the munchkins and I stayed home from church. Boy I miss my camera. Sniff sniff.
All the Christmas doo-dads are cleaned up, and we are settling in for the long winter now. Oh, and planning the birthday celebration for Honey and Biscuit.
"Honey, what kind of cake do you want?" " Chocolate!" "OK, what do you want it to look like?" "A butterfly!" Hmm, easy enough, I just so happen to have directions for cutting a 9x13 inch cake into a butterfly, however since I first asked, she has wanted a pink cake, a doll cake, butterfly again, and chocolate with chocolate frosting. Chocolate with pink frosting, pink with chocolate frosting, and heart shaped. This could be interesting.
I'm struggling with good gift ideas too. I'm planning to make Honey a doll house and people, but they people are giving me fits right now. Very short torsos, and very long limbs. Other than that they're awfully cute. If they don't work out though, I'm stumped.
Biscuit has me completely baffled for a gift. I would Love to get him a tricycle, the poor kid has had enough girly stuff to play with, and needs some boy looking toys. But they are rather expensive-$45ish is what I priced. Well, I still have a month to look around.
Lets see, what else is new, Oh I know, I went down to the freezer last week and discovered I hadn't closed the door tight, that's always exciting. Thank you Lord we didn't lose anything, though everything in front had thawed, and there was/is a big mess that I need to clean up again.
Muffin is cute and pudging up, she smiles all the time, boy do I miss my camera. Sniff sniff.
Is it tacky sending out a few Happy New Years cards this late? I have a few former Christmas cards that didn't make it out, and I would still like to send them. Maybe Happy January cards.
I should probably go now, I still want to look up patterns to check at Joanne Fabrics, since I will be going there this week. YAY!
Tootles!

I don't think it's too late at all to send "Christmas" cards! I never got any sent this year, although I did get a very nice family picture printed out to send along with them. Jeff told me next year, I'm not allowed to order the pictures until I actually have the Christmas letter written and ready to send. :) I'm seriously contemplating either Happy January greetings or Valentine's cards to everyone this year! The way I see it, I like to hear from our friends and family all year round so it doesn't matter if our Christmas cards are late.

Send away, is my vote! :)
