Funny how that works! Like I said, I just forget to make dinner when I'm canning. Seriously--didn't I just make dinner yesterday?!? :) BTW--I saw your comment about herbs in the beans. It's funny, with cooking I love to add all sorts of herbs and things, but with canning I've stuck to the recipes like glue, no variation. Maybe I should rethink that! My herbs are going nuts right now. Thanks for the idea.
Cute! I have been canning pickles and last weekend tried blueberry jam for the first time. My grandmothers canned but were gone before I was old enough to benefit from their knowledge. I told my husband that I was born to can. ;-)
We have crabapples in our yard too and are rural. Country life is a blessing from God above. A great place to raise our three blessings and something that I am thankful for.
Welcome to Crabapple Pond! I'm Bonnie; I'm 33, wife of 9 years to B., and momma to Honey-8 yrs., Biscuit-6 yrs., Muffin- 4 yrs., Beans-2 yrs., and Sprout- born late summer 2012.
We live on a small wanna-be "back-yard farm" in the rural Mid-West, and have a few acres with-you guessed it- crabapple trees and a pond.
I am a born again Christian, and I strive to serve Christ through my family.
God is good and life is grand.

LOL. I'd have to call that "pulling a Sarah" since I do stuff like that all the time.
Funny!
Heehee! :)
