A Long Crafty Post

Happy New Year!  I'm finally getting around to posting some of my Christmas makings, I still have one item that's not quite finished (a wallet).
Earrings for my sister. Earrings in a box are boring (unless they are pearls or diamonds.)
Earrings on some relatives of B.'s are fun. (Color copy of the photo)
I had plain brown lunch bags that needed dressed up, so I looked around st what I had, and this is what I came up with: I dehydrated a sliced orange, clipped some cedar, and hot glued everything together. (the gift inside was cookie dough (white chocolate, cranberry oatmeal, and chocolate chip) and gingerbread coffee mix).
I thought they looked pretty.
Honey, loves all things Little House. Her "big" gift was Laura and Mary rag dolls. The trunk came from Hobby Lobby, and held a night gown, a dress-up dress, a shawl, and baskets for each.
I still need to make them bonnets, and shoes, but I loaned that pattern to a friend.
Their foreheads are a bit high, and I'm still trying to figure out how to keep their hair neat.
Any suggestions?

Church/ school/ town dresses.
Night gowns. I'm debating night caps.
Shawls.
Bloomers.
I made B. a fleece, which I still need to hem, but I need B. to try it on so I know how long to make things. He really liked it, and was really surprised.  He doesn't get particularly excited, or care a whole lot about gifts, so I wasn't sure what he would think.
And this quilt wasn't made for Christmas, I made it our first year of marriage. I actually don't particularly like it. I like the over all pattern, but not the fabrics I threw together. Oh well, it's warm. I got a little picture happy this morning.
I am heading out to Joanne's at nap time, I have a crock pot full of kielbasa, sauerkraut and onions cooking away, and there are 2 baskets of laundry waiting to be folded, so tooda-loo for now!

You been a busy, crafty lady, too. Everything is so cute. My younger daughter loved the Little House books and characters. I wished I would have thought of something like your adorable dolls for her when she was little. Your girls will have such great times acting out all the fabulous stories with their dolls.

Hope you and your family have a Blessed Year in 2010.

**WARNING!! BULLET COMMENT AHEAD**

* Displaying earrings on old photographs is not only clever and funny-but positively ingenius!

* Your bags are so lovely-it is amazing to me how beautiful something can be using just natural objects. So fancy and lovely

* Mary and Laura are beautiful! So beautiful! What a TREASURE of a gift. Loved all the outfits (and yes--the nightcaps are a MUST! winkywink). Loved the shawls too. Beautiful!! You went so above and beyond (as you do). Your children will grow up and one day fully grasp all that you so heartily did for them. They are very blessed.

* I didn't make a thing for Matt this year (ran out of time) so what I had orginally intended will *hopefully* be for his February birthday. Glad your hubs appreciated your wonderful ingenuity and thoughtfulness. You are a treasure.

*GREAT JOB BONNIE!

I just love the dolls, I'm sure my daughter would think that a perfect gift. What a great idea to give a trunk full of clothes with them!
My boys are funny about gifts sometimes as well. I don't always know what they are thinking. :)
I really like the pattern you used for the quilt, the colors are very soothing. Even if it isn't your favorite it still will be treasured be all who use it!
