I am not sure how I came across the blog This Little Project, but boy am I glad I did. I found this idea there, and as soon as I saw her
little village, I knew I wanted to make one for Biscuits birthday.
(Please excuse the fact that my floors need vacuumed, and that some toys are kicked under the chairs. I haven't been feeling especially wonderful this week.)

The roads are made of felt, fused to heavy duty interfacing (a few pieces need re-done), and are painted with puffy t-shirt paint.

The buildings are plastic canvas, cut and hot glued together, then covered in felt. It was the least expensive way I could think of, plastic canvas bends instead of breaks ('
cuz lets be honest here folks, little boys are rougher), and I can easily glue it back together if anything comes apart. i covered the "seams" with more puffy paint, and also used it for details.

The field, lake, and construction site are felt cut and glued to felt.

Biscuit is like his Dad, doesn't show a lot of excitement (even when the little guy is thrilled beyond words), but after he opened everything he told me thank-you, he "
weally even loved it!"
and while I was cleaning up the kitchen I kept hearing him say "I weally love dis!"
Cute little monkey.
