The Everyday of Things...

The busy everydayness has kept me from posting, and from the looks of things, will keep me busy for a while. I'm trying to get the spring cleaning done, but at the moment, have only succeeded in tearing Biscuits room apart, in preparation for moving him out and in with Honey by the end of the month ("bunklebeds" (his word), having finally been ordered, and due to come in in few weeks), and moving Muffin into his crib. She is a terrible sleeper at night, and needs to be where she can cry without waking the whole house up.
Despite this pictures depiction (taken only a week ago), the snow has finally melted, and we are enjoying sunshine, and near spring-like temperatures. Aah, I'm itching to get some dirt under my nails, and to see growth and green.
I have said it before, and I will say it again: its hard to beat crawling into freshly line dried sheets at night. I would do it everyday if I could.

A thrifted apron from several years ago. How could I pass up the bright orange binding? And it fits so nicely around the growing Littlest.

A lovely necklace, made by a dear friend, that matches almost everything. It's like wearing a bit of Spring around my neck!

Wearing bracelets for no reason...

Lots of warm bread, fresh from the oven, for sandwiches and dinner.

Chocolate chips cookies, which nearly make B. dance for joy.

The porch sandbox, put back to good use after a long and cold winter.
Brother and Sister happily playing side-by-side.

"Birthday cakes"

My silly Muffin.

Listening to the birds- how I have missed that! And fresh air while tidying up. I have used the dishwasher twice in the last week, suddenly not minding doing all the dishes by hand. It makes me slow down, and that's good. (The fact that the dishwasher gives the effect of a 747 taking off in the kitchen aside...)

A new haircut, in honor of my 30th birthday. So much easier. I like long hair, in fact I feel a twinge of envy whenever I see someone with beautiful long hair. Just not so much of a fan of it on me.

Here's a before, if you look closely.  You can see about how long it was, and that's after curling it.
I love the change. Its nice to feel grown up.

And lastly, we went to my parents Sunday afternoon for a birthday dinner, and my youngest sister Andrea put Muffins hair up in a teeny-tiny pony tail. Isn't it so sweet?
And that is it at the moment. Much to be done, garden planning, sewing, baking, cleaning, schooling. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed but slow and steady wins the race, so off I go.
Too-da-loo!

LOVE the itty bitty pony tail! Ah! So cute! Can't wait to do that to Kara. I'm slightly jealous of your clothes line. It's WAY too humid down here in the summer to hang clothes out. I don't think they would dry - sad, 'cause I love hanging clothes out. You are SO right about the fresh-from-the-line-sheets thing, a simple delight!
I must say, I'm liking the new style! I've been contemplating chopping mine off. It needs *something* very badly. Lydia cuts hair, so I usually wait until she can cut it. I'm about to chop it myself... don't know how that would turn out... hmmm.
So wish I could send you some of this warm weather!

What a lovely post! I think it's the nicest thing to read about someone else's everyday world. Funny how little things add up, isn't it? You're wondering where the time goes, but when you add it all up there's always something nice to do. I love being at home -- it's wonderful that you do, too.

I LOVE your new haircut! My hubby prefers me to keep mine longer, but I'd go with a similar style to yours if I was going shorter. I love sheets dried on the line as well. They smell so good! AND, kids playing in the sandbox??? Mmmm... summer's comin'!
