We once again, traveled down to B.'s uncle and aunt's house for a family reunion, July 4th.
"I hope they have that slide-y thing again with the water coming down. I LOVED it." said by those who loved it, those who didn't, and those who didn't want to be left out.

Honey did love it.

Biscuit wasn't sure what to think. I missed the picture where he had his cheeks cupped in his hands, contemplating this whole get up.

B. gave him a nudge, and he didn't like that one. single. bit. Boy he scaled that thing fast!

B. set Muffin on it and let her slide (a whole 2 feet). She didn't really react one way or the other.

Just sat in the "
wa-
wa" looking confused. (that was my suit as a baby BTW)

B. was off the Fifth, so we collected my youngest sister, and headed down to the "local"
Amish area. Our first stop is always the same, at our favorite store. The next stop is for cheese and trail bologna, which is then eaten for lunch at a picnic spot. With a
van full of starving small people, its a good thing the cheese place has tubs of samples of every cheese. Its a wonderful place when you adore cheese, as I do.

The children were especially enamored with all the wheat(?) shocks, having recently read Farmer Boy again, and noting this was how they did their wheat.

"Our Tree" (where B. proposed)

The picnic spot we went to was GREAT. Lots of shade and playground stuff, no bugs or people.
Even in the close to 90 degree heat, it was breezy and cool.

A few more bits of scenery.

That evening, B. went shooting, and the
kidlets and I went to my parents for dinner, and to see my grandma.

The chickens were a huge hit.

Later in the week, chores were done early in the morning

Love this picture...
The first harvest from our unbelievably pitiful garden. They then
shriveled up into
inedible little rubbery things.

I brought the little table and chairs out and set it up under the trees so they could play
playdough (this was after they went in as it started pouring)

While I did this. And might I add the garden is looking a bit more promising now.

And lastly, the wonderful gift from B.'s parents, worked on by his dad, and delivered last Saturday. They love it.

*sigh* LOVE all the pictures! Muffin is really *looking* older. Gosh they change so fast! The cheese store! I'm jealous, and slobbering. Yes! You should try the chai tea! It's a little pricey and it's a treat for me, but it's SO worth it! It's really good cold too... I'll have to try the peach freezing suggestions. I don't know how else to do it. I think if I lay them flat like you said, that should work. I'll just have to make jelly out of them, or keep them frozen? Don't know how they would be thawed from the freezer, then eaten. I suppose a peach crisp might work, too... we'll see. Hope it's not too hot there today!
Lovely to have some up-to-date photos -- Honey is looking so long and lean, and muffin is almost a big girl! Your babies all have such darling doll face.
I've never seen wheat shocks before either -- they're fascinating!
