The sun has been out more and more, the snow is melting, robins are back, and so are the red-wing blackbirds. I can finally smell spring when I go out. We visited friends last Friday, and she had her side door open, that was wonderful. 
These, if you're wondering are some of the best cookies I've ever had.
I was trying to capture the fact that he is not jolly all the time.
He decided not to let me try to show anything but his jolliness. But he really is jolly, there's no other word for it. Nearly always smiling or laughing. And his hair sticks up like duckling fuzz now, oh my goodness I could eat him up!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love and adore my wooden dough bowl? I set some to rise while the small fry and I went out for a while yesterday.
It was good they finally got to go thoroughly stretch their legs.
And get muddy. And wet, let's not forget that.

Ghosts of summer past
Bread was baked, and came out beautiful, golden and light.
And, I found the first dandelion. I think I'll get to hang laundry out today too.

It was feeling like spring on Sunday morning, it was raining and then all the snow melted and I saw EARTH again! Then a few hours later we had the biggest blizzard of winter and it has been...interesting....ever since.
(We were caught in the blizzard and our car is STILL stranded. Long story short, spring seems VERY far off these days.
Any good beef soup recipes for pressure canning? I have to can beef this week (lots of it!) and I have never done it before and I am nervous. I got a pressure canner as a gift though, and I have wanted to do it for a long time. Just know nothing about it. Any help or suggestions or recipes would be awesome. IF you have the time or the inclination.

p.s. Is that whole-wheat bread? I'm trying to find a good recipe. So far, everything I've tried comes out heavy and dense! Mind sharing your recipe? - when you get a minute - like in the next few years :-) , since I know you have a LOT of minutes in your day where you are not busy - HA-NOT!
