The fair is next week, but I thought I'd pop in with a quick "No I'm not dead" hello.
Hello.
And:
It feels like fall, my garden has pretty much gone to ruin (stupid weather. And weeds), I'm sewing like crazy (fair stuffs), school will be starting in a few weeks, canning/freezing is omni-present, we butchered the roosters last night, we got 2 Delaware and 2 Silver-laced Wyandot hens (did I tell you that?), and then the Buckeye hen we had, the dishwasher just beeped, Sprouts asleep, the kitchen's a wreck and I must go.
Later Gators.

Thanks for popping in; I'm always glad when you do that! :)
AND that's a huge tomato!
AND was B around when you saw that deer by the chicken coop? If so, did his hands start itching to reach for his gun? :)
AND "omnipresent" is the perfect word to use for the canning/freezing situation. I shall remember that! Every day I'm faced with some kind of food preservation task. My thoughts usually go along the line of "shall I freeze corn or make applesauce today?" Or "should I head to the green bean patch or harvest some basil to chop and freeze?" This (wonderful!) job of putting up food for the winter is, during this time of year, truly omnipresent. :)
I enjoyed this post ~ thanks for the update:) Hope you have a wonderful time readying for the fair ( over here we call them shows ~ I think fair is a much nicer name :)
Blessings

Hey you! Long time no see! I understand though- being all productive and everything. I know how crazy creative you are around fair time and frankly, I can't WAIT to be blown away with your projects.
PS. Last Saturday I spent the ENTIRE DAY on a backless pew bench with Andrew at a local Amish auction house to get some young blood in our chicken flock. I crocheted a bit but mostly admired the darling children running around barefoot with their little hats on. They were so.stinkin.precious. And it seemed like a whole new generation of 16 year old brides had just given birth to a bunch of new babies and I wanted to steal them. I realize, this makes me a bad person. But I did. I wanted every single one of those children for my very own.
All I came home with, though, was a few more chickens and a sore back.
