Haha! At long last, I finally got these things uploaded, AND, I can see them as I type so I know what I'm typing about! These are from the munchkins birthday party, on the 6th.
Biscuit is not disgusted with his cake, as his expression seems to dictate. He is merely exclaiming (over and over) "PISH! PISH!"
Honey is in fake smile mode, and I managed to get her to move her arms before they fell in the cake.
The cakes are a story nearly on their own. I had great plans for doing "cut-up cakes". I delightful book from the '50s my mom has, that was looked at nearly to death by me as a child. It shows you how to cut and arrange your unfrosted cake into fun things. Honey was going to have a butterfly, and Biscuit a fish.Well, for Honey, I forgot to flour the pan. I tried to get the cake out anyway, but it just cracked in half. So I managed to get the half that came out back in, and then left it.
For Biscuit, I did remember to flour the pan, but it still stuck, and then came out in about 100 pieces. B. picked up another mix for me (true confession- I did use boxed mixes and pre-made frosting for these. Shh. don't tell anyone.) and I baked and decorated the above. Twizzlers Pull-and- Peels, are the outline of the fish and plant life; gummy peach circle things were cut for the gills, m&ms are the bubbles, and a chocolate chip for the eye. I thought it was pretty cute for a last minute re-do.

Can you tell the M&M's are butterflies? With Pull-and-Peel bodies and antennae.
If all goes well , I'll post another set of pictures tomorrow.
Tootles!

The cakes are really cute! Thanks for admitting that you're human and occasionally use boxed mixes, lol. ;)
Great job on the cakes!!!
Look at Honey's arms in that top picture. Don't you just want to squeeze them? (Or nibble on them?) :)
Definately butterflies -- and fabulous fish. These look lovely -- but what a lot of cake to eat on one day!
Sure thing Sarah!
Davene- I nibble them all the time!
Morning- You said it! Fortunately, we had about 23 people here for the pary to help eat most of it.
