I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend! We certainly did. We
traveled down to B.'s
aunt and uncles for a family cookout. I was able to meet some of his cousins, and an aunt and uncle in from out of state. Lots of good food, and fun, especially for the kids, as you can see from the pictures. I think B.'s grandma was tickled pink,
because *all* her children,
grandchildren (save 2) and great
grandchildren were together for the first time. She just sat in her chair smiling and enjoying it!
This is as good as it got for Biscuit. The water was ice cold, and the whole contraption scared him a bit.

Honey DID NOT like the slide at first, but once she saw how much fun the other kids were having, and mastered how to climb up the back, she was still playing after everyone else was finished and dressed!

She discovered if she
hugged the side going down, she missed most of the cold shower.

And as if blow-up slides weren't enough, there was a blow up bouncer toy too! Really, Biscuit liked this.

We weren't able to stay for fireworks (
boooo), but at the end of the road, when we were leaving at least EIGHT(!) hot air balloons were launched, so that was a still very exciting, but much quieter way to end our day.

I can just imagine how special that must have been for Grandma. I hope when I'm that old, I can occasionally gather my children, grandchildren, etc. around me like that!
what a marvellous contraption -- the kids must have had a ball. it always amazes me how they're willing to play for hours in the water, even if it's near freezing. It's midwinter here, with frost in the mornings, but even last week Boo and a friend were outside in the paddling pool (admittedly, I did fill it with warm water).
Dear Sweet Bonnie,
Don't give it another thought. Your words are just fine. I know your heart.
I look forward to the day we can share a hug and a meal. Maybe it'll be on this side, if not then for sure in Heaven.
Much Love,
Kimberly
