A Gathering Sort of Morning

A quick trip to out to the garden this morning yielded lots. Okay, maybe not so much the peppers and blackberries, but otherwise, a nice haul.
I like to go out to the garden early. In my nightgown. I like having wet garden shoes, and then coming in to a hot pot of coffee. I like hearing the neighbors cows and chickens. And peacocks.
I like seeing baby vegetables.
And seeing the web without the weaver.

Oh Mrs. Bonnie, that sounds sooo peaceful! If I went out in my nightgown, I'd likely have to say "hi" to the stares of a few mom's jogging with their kids, or an old lady walking her schnauzer. Seeing your haul makes me long for fried green tomatoes, my mom makes the best and I had some on my recent vacation. Oh how I miss the country!

Thanks for the well-wishes-- I wish you could bring me dinner too! And I'm sure Nathan does b/c he's had hotdogs one night and breakfast sandwiches another, poor guy, and he's sick too!

About the chamomile tea, I HATE hot tea. Growing up in the South, there was only one way to drink tea-- cold and saweeeet! Now if I can make it taste decent iced, I might would give it a try.

Yikes! I think that song "You taught me how to dance" is spooky. I wouldn't want that playing at night in a dim room ;P

What a pretty posy -- there's nothing I like better than plucking flowers while wandering outside in the evening (I'm not a morning person! -- and don't have to be, since Jumps wakes early and plays with Boo for a while so I can sleep in). Your vegies look good, too.
PS I love these pretty posts about your daily doings.

What a nice yield from your garden and the relaxing setting while picking the veggies sounds so nice.

Have a blessed day!

What a lovely morning!
My neighbors are TOO close for trips to the garden in a nightie, though that does not stop my neighbor from trying. Um, ick.
I answered your questions, but thought I'd post them here to--
Bonnie, They are yellow squash/Italian squash. I've got more in the canner as I type this. It's the Squash Pickles Recipe in the Ball Book. I sampled a bite before I put them in the jars--YUM! I'm looking forward to serving them with rice and baked chicken. Such a great flavor & the tumeric makes them such a lovely color, don't you think?
We planted 4 apple, 2 peach and cherry trees. I'll be surprised if any survive. What a mess.

***also you inspired me--I added savory to several jars of green beans and dill to a few others. They're in the pressure canner as I type this. Hope they turn out!!
