Sunday was Muffins Baby Dedication at church. So Saturday,
(because why would I plan ahead?) I made her dress.
I have no actual pictures posted of the dedication, since B. doesn't want to be on here.
She wanted my camera case....
Cute little tongue thats always out....
I wish I had a better back drop than closet doors and the trampoline (which, by the way, is a LIFE SAVER for active children when playing outside is out of the question), but somebody was full of ginger, and wouldn't hold still, so there you are. Sometimes you just have to go with it.
(Back) I made it out of the leftovers from my wedding dress.
(Front) the under dress is the satin from the dress part.
The over dress and sleeves are from my veil.
(A sort of close up)I though it turned out well, despite sewing on buttons at 1:15am.

she looks like an angel. May the Lord bless her life and use her mightily for his kingdom.
You did a beautiful job on her dress (it is stunning) and so meaningful since it came from your own wedding dress. Before I was married, I was lamenting to Matt that I would only be wearing my wedding dress once and he suggested I cut it up and use it for this very purpose. I shot horrored eyes at him and shushed him before he could finish. I *WOULD* wear that dress agaiN! Except: that was 8 years ago and several babies and DOUBLE digit poundage and quadruple bra size....so....maybe I shouldn't have scoffed at the idea so loudly.
Beautiful job on dress AND baby. ;-)
adorable!!!!!
Bonnie,
What a beautiful idea! I would never have thought of doing that (and TRULY wish I had), I even had left over material from making my wedding dress.
The dress is just lovely. Consider it an heirloom and pack it away safely in acid-free tissue paper so that Muffin can also use it one day for her own dear baby girl.
Blessings,
Nanci
So, so, SO cute! I can't believe you did it in one day! Sheesh! That would take at LEAST a week! I'm trying to make a crib skirt and it's turning into a huge project with fabric and sewing paraphernalia all over the living room. Maybe someday I'll have a sewing room - or area... hmmm.... sounds nice.
