Sewing and Bellies (great big ones...)

*DISCLAIMER*: Please, ignore the awful pictures, and the dirty mirror, end of the day folks...

The skirt I modified for maternity, found here (and while I'm at it, can I tell you how much I want this pattern? LOVE the short sleeve version, but with one button!)
I used a brown bed sheet from W*mart, a great $4 investment.
(I was apparently, in Muffins way.) I left off the yoke and left out the zipper, and monkeyed around with some stretch knit and 2 inch wide elastic to make the maternity band. I wish I could remember how I did it, but I couldn't, so in the below skirt, I just encased the elastic in the stretch knit, cut the front panel a little lower to make room fro the baby, and sewed the band on. Both options have their pros and cons, but I think over all, I like the dark skirt better.
I'll probably make one more, since I only have 10 weeks to go, and since I broke down and bought 4 new maternity tees at Motherwear (or hood or whatever it is). That oughta see me through. I want to make a few new skirts (and maybe tops, and that darling jacket) to wear after baby comes, since my wardrobe in general has seen much better days.

Pitifully Done With a Point and Shoot Camera Belly Pictures
Self timers are tough.

I really don't know why I posted all these, but I did. If you want to see GOOD ones (done by herself) go here, here, and here.

Oh, and just so you know, Honey, and her husband (james) are pleased to announce they are expecting again. twins. Do I look like the grandmother of (usually) 15?! Don't answer that...

Taking decent pictures of your own pregnant belly is pretty much impossible, if you ask me. It's sad, really. But I think you did great~love the sunshiny ones best.

How do you do it Bonnie? Seriously? Sewing yourself some skirts (just WHIPPING them up) and planning to sew yourself an adorable jacket for the baptism? Um-NOT fair. I always look so...disheveled for a couple MONTHs afterward. Tell me-how many BEAN projects have you completed by now? (Dare I ask lest I go into a comatose woe-is-me state?)

I am impressed with you. As usual.

And your belly is so perfect! What a cute little bean! So glad you shared all the pictures!

I tried to comment yesterday but it kicked me off. Cute belly pictures!

I was so confused by the Honey "announcement" at first, lol. Wasn't James the husband of one of us? Or was it one of our daughters? I feel old and forgetful. But I love that she's following in our footsteps!

You look awesome....I love preggo bellies :). It is hard to believe that my "baby" is already 15 months old........the time flies so fast. I like your skirts are great too. I so far have not had any luck sewing things for me....kids/babies...yes, but for me nothing seems to fit right.

Great pictures. I have to be more intentional about self timer because I am noticing that I am not in many pictures and I am sure one day when my kids are older they will want to see their Mommy in the picture memories with them :).

I will have to try the beans/ burritos, I'll try ANYTHING at this point! Yes, Lydia, her husband and Josh came down for a visit. It was SO nice to have them here, kinda crappy weather for them (rained the WHOLE week).
I LOVE all your pictures, you look great! I'm going to be needing preggo clothes very soon. A friend let me borrow hers for Kara, so now I only have a few shirts, and a skirt. Gonna have to get on that...
