February Thaw

After *months* of snow, ice and cold, we've had a thaw. Not so much that you can smell spring when the wind blows, but enough to melt some of the concrete part of the driveway (except for a few patches, which I shoveled off before sending the older 2 outside.), to get out, and breath deeply without fear of freezing the inside of your nose, or giving your lungs frost-bite.

Still kinda overcast and bleak though. If it wasn't grocery shopping day, I would've hung some laundry out.

I went for a stroll-er a carefull tip-toe so I wouldn't sink in the mud, and found my peppermint is fine.

This is only a small sampling of mole damage

Thinking if I should do flowers or more herbs in this bed

A solid sheet of ice. Crabapple Glacier?

Standing water everywhere

This for some reason had Narnia-ish feel to it. Once I cropped out the neighbors house.

And, as I hoped, my daffs are coming up.

Daffodils are amazing; I love their persistence despite obstacles!

I'm glad you had a bit of warmer air to breathe...it does do a soul good, doesn't it? We've had temps in the 60s which has sent my older boys cavorting out of doors like newly-released calves (Malachi 4:2). :)

high of 56 today! Hurrah!

so glad for your daffodils. We still have about 3-4 inches everywhere except the driveway so I'll have to wait to see my *few*.

(love your apron!)
