(And hear people say- "hey weren't you the pregnant lady that was dropping off entries Monday? And now you're here?!")
My fellow new Mama. She beat me by one day. And her baby was born at the fair.
B. took most of the pictures.
Biscuit and Muffins bean art. Which Beans has since pretty much picked clean.
Honey's potholder. I don't remember them being so stinkin' hard to get off the loom when I was younger.
My finished house. And yes a post on that will be coming, but I need to get to Hobby Lobby so I can make a few things to go with it.
The lady in the sewing booth told B. that everyone just gushed over my little apron. It was Muffins Christmas present a few years ago.
Honey's Easter dress.
A wagon full of my children and it's still short 2. I think somewhere I have another picture of 4 of my 5, plus their cousin crammed in.
Another sister, and two of my kidlets. (And I am in NON maternity jeans. Thankyouverymuch.)
I'm loving my baby wrap. I made it the night before. It's going to be too short here soon.
My canning didn't do so hot this year, but that's okay. And there were a LOT of canning entries this year, more competition than there has been in a long while.
My venison placed though, and when B. was out at the fair earlier in the week, he heard people talking about it.
Honey placed 2nd in the children's canning class!
My pumpkin is the cutest.
Yearly Moline picture- though this is a different model than in past years.
There were some GORGEOUS quilts this year. Here is the grand champion. Lovely, no?
And a few more. I'll spare you all the quilt pictures I took.
I stopped and rested a good bit. It got hot out quick. B. brought me a gyro after we got back to the camper.
They taste wonderful when brought by a thoughtful husband to your hospital room, but there is a little something that improves the flavor when eaten at the fair.
Only Biscuit's flower placed, none of my baking (the fact that everything was made ahead and frozen probably had something to do with that), and I entered all the kids artwork into the wrong category. But as I told the kids, it's not about winning, it's about the fun of seeing it on display.
And so you have it. The Crazy Just Had A Baby Lady's Day At the Fair.
I was very ready to go home when we left, and itching to go back about 2 hours later. I seriously considered it. Justifying that I needed to pick up our entries. But common sense prevailed. Surprisingly.

Bonnie,
Your wee one *and all your children* are so sweet....I haven't had time to read your whole post, as actually I am just on the computer to check email really quick and balance my check book before going to the grocery store...**but** I just wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog post today...it encouraged and blessed me immensely!
THANK YOU!!! :o)
Warmly,
Katy
I am tired of being on my feet and so I am sitting here eating lunch (and hopefully, will convince myself to get back to work again after I am done. That is still up in the air at this point.) and I wanted to write to say I love this post. I love your fair posts. I don't know why exactly, but I do. Your love of the fair has made my own fair experiences more thrilling. I think of you when I am there. In FACT, our fair had a calf born too...about an hour before we got there- I took a picture of it for you and will blog it if ever I get caught up on summer pictures. I hoped you wouldn't be weirded out that I thought of you because of a cow-but I see that you wouldn't because you thought of it yourself.
Lovely things, all. I particularly can't wait to see that house and all its' detailings. Miss Adele' has become newly infatuated with the dollhouse lately and can sit and play with it for hours so I am thinking there will be quite a few new additions to the dollhouse this Christmas. It is exciting to see new interest from younger ones as the older ones lose it (though it isn't ENTIRELY lost yet, thank goodness!)
The quilt is lovely- I particularly love wedding ring quilts because they seem so amazingly DIFFICULT- and because a dear friend made us one as a wedding present.
Non Maternity jeans four days later? I hate you. What was really shocking was SEEING you in jeans. I think this might have been the first time in history that I have seen you in them. Is this possible?
PS. Sprout? LOVE IT! Speaking of which, I left a comment on my blog too but I just had to say...last week I was thinking I REALLY need to finish that gift for Lil Mister since it will hardly be a congratulations on the newborn gift anymore. I justified myself by saying, Well. It will make a perfect CONGRATS on being ONE MONTH! gift. I looks as though I missed THAT too.
I am *almost* done. Soon. Promise.
Love your post, for many many reasons! :-) I could just drink up the pictures!
I'm not really surprised that you were at the fair, I probably would have been too! At least briefly!
Sprout?! Ah so cute!
I'm trying to not be jealous of your gyro. AND looking at a picture of it doesn't make we want to hurl (as almost all food does right now).
Now I need to go clean my house, as Jud is at church and the kids are in bed.
Oh, and I echo Rebecca's comment about wearing non-maternity jeans 4 (FOUR!!!) days later!!!
oh my good gravy girl! you ARE crazy! and oh so inspiring...since I totally undersatnd how the 4-H fair is "your life" when one is in it, I do totally get it :)
what a little doll he is! and you look great!!
xo + blessings,
Anne Marie
