Rent

last summer

1 Mommy, 1 Daddy, 1 Baby Sister. 2 Grandmas, 2 Grandpas. 25 Aunts and Uncles, 15 cousins.
Yesterday, with the bang of a gavel, my brother and his wife's dream of adopting him was crushed, and he will be snatched from us all. Our sweet Zac. Dedicated to the Lord one Sunday morning alongside his baby sister and my Sprout.  Right after her parental rights were legally stripped-jail time and drugs being the path she chose- his birth mother suddenly "remembered" who his father was. And someone from that family wanted him. To be their own sweet boy, what they've always wanted, we can only hope and pray. Greg and Bethany could fight it if they wanted, but we've all been praying for Gods will for Zac, and this seems to be it. And they aren't about to fight Gods will. They both have the Peace That Passes Understanding. I do too, but I'm afraid if I think about it too much, I'm going to throw-up.

We've been sick more on than off since the day after Christmas, and the end of January and beginning of February have quite frankly sucked for various other reasons. B.'s grandma passing away, marriages crumbling, and now this to top it off.
Pray for Greg and Bethany. Pray for Zac. That as soon as he sees his new family, that it would be as if he's known them all along, and has been waiting for them.

And go hug your babies close.

Edited to add: Baby sister is my brother and sil's biological baby

I wanted to cry after I'd heard. God's will and all.

Oh, my heart aches for them.

We have good friends who went through a similar situation. Their foster baby that they hoped to adopt ended up going to his grandparents out west. It was heart-rending. In the end, God gave our friends another foster baby, and they were able to adopt him. But what a hard journey of learning to trust God for each step of the way!

I'll be praying for all of you...

Oh NO. This brings tears to my eyes. Prayed for the peace of God which passes all understanding to flood over all of you! :(

With adoption happening around us often and my parents' adopting through the foster care system, we are very familiar with judge gavels banging the wrong verdict.

I am so sorry for your loss (all of your losses) because it IS a loss.

Praise God, knowing that even when his wonderful Mama and Papa wonder where their baby boy is and lament not being able to watch over him~ that his Father in Heaven ALWAYS watches and is just as concerned about little Zac (even moreso) than the good parents he was given for a short while.

God is watching over Zac. May that peace and comfort be a balm in this horribly sad, heart-wrenching time. Praying for you all.

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns. On a happier note, I talk to his Aunt (who will be taking care of him) every day and they want zac to still see us and be a part of our lives! They are happy for us to have him every couple sundays and take him to church and see our family for the day. They know how important family is, and that we were more than just a "foster family" to him. Praise God for what he has and is about to do!!
