I am only 16 weeks and 3days, but yesterday, at my appointment, the mid-wife couldn't get a heart beat. She thought she found it a few times, but couldn't get anything definite, so she sent me off for an emergency ultrasound. Not how I would have picked to find out, and thank you Lord for keeping me calm. Everything is fine, the tech thinks I have fibroids, and that was keeping the M.W. from hearing anything.
She asked if I wanted to find out what the gender is,and that took me about a second to decide-wait another month or know now? Now. Honey is beside herself with excitement! I was trying to keep it hush-hush 'til B. got home and we could tell her, but she's a smart little cookie and after hearing my MIL (who was watching the kids) talking, she later asked with big eyes and an excited whisper "Mommy, am I going to have a sister?" when I told her yes, it looks like it she threw her arms around my neck and squeezed for all she was worth. " I am SOOOOO excited! I am going to have a sister!"
She's been hugging my knees every now and then since and saying the same thing, and telling everyone at the grocery store.
I hope to be back on later this weekend with a few more posts, but as it has finally warmed up, and is gorgeous outside, I don't know that that will happen.
Too-da-loo!

I am sooo excited that our girls can be little buddies! :)
YAY! I am SO excited! Congratulations! In fact, I was so anxious to find out WHAT it was after your comment on my blog (by the way-you are pretty darn good at cliffhangers too!) that I didn't even look at the PICTURE! Now THAT says a lot! Anyway...I kept reading and reading...FINALLY you wrote sister.
That is SO exciting!
I am secretly hoping for a girl. Of course, it goes without saying that I would be extremely happy either way but there is just something about little girls and their frills.
So SO thankful all was okay and that not hearing the heartbeat was just a terrible, awful, grueling fluke!
Ps. I really REALLY want to find out what we are having. Mainly because I want to be able to MAKE things for him/her- (I am not a big fan of gender-neutral) but Matt says there are only a few real surprises in life and that is one he wants to keep! Oh well.
HOW WONDERFUL!!! And what a treat to find out so much earlier than what you were expecting! That happened to us with Josiah...one day at my appointment, the Dr. said, "Let's do an ultrasound today!" OK!!!!!
That's just precious about Honey being so excited. I have a feeling she'll be a very involved big sister. :)
Oh you lucky duck! Congratulations!
Thanks Ladies! we are pretty happy ourselves! No names picked yet, I am actually not looking particularily forward to picking one, because B. loves to act like he's set on awful ones, and I fall for it nearly every time. Plus, no names have really struck me yet, well, one has, but I have a hunch B. is going to shoot it down. We'll see...
