Is B shooting for fun, or hunting? We've been blessed with two deer this year - shot by other people - and I am learning how to cook venison, and we're LOVING it. Jeff is eager to go hunting, but hasn't managed to squeeze any time in the woods yet. Maybe Friday?
If I don't get to say it any other time, have a very wonderful Thanksgiving!! :)
Love it. Love the fabric, too. I was eyeing the black friday ad for joann, $1.49 for flannel. I'm going to go out shopping that morning, will stop there... Evenings are so peaceful when the kids are tucked in! And QUIET! Haha! I've been working every last second on craft show things, only a week and a half to go. Trying to not panic....
I just noticed you changed your picture! Did you cut your hair??? Guess, what. I have bangs. Yep, NEVER thought that day would come. It was that, or a pixie cut. Yikes. I lost so much hair after the pregnancy, that the regrowth looks like I took to my head with scissors. The bangs are hiding the worst of it up front...
I must see a picture 'Lish! And for the record, I kinda like pixie cuts, somedays, I miss mine. Wash and go... Nope, haven't had my hair cut since Lyd cut in March (to my chin. it's already just past my shoulders). It is however CURLY now. Or at the very least, really wavy. I noticed it was drying wavier, and a bit of product makes it do its thing, so it looks different. B. hasn't said anything, so he either hates it, or most likely, hasn't even noticed ; ) I like it!
Davene- he was shooting for fun, though he walked in and scared the daylights out of me just as I hit the publish button. Now electricity at the range! Enjoy that venison! B. goes out next week for gun season, I've been hoarding our last 6 packages, and we're praying he gets at least 2 deer. I use venison in place of beef for everything!
Last night after the kids were in bed, about the same time you wrote this likely, I was fingering flannel thinking about making nightgowns for my girls. But, only THINKING, since I am actually quite busy just unpacking the sewing/craft room stuff and that must take precedence. Don't even know where the sewing machine is going to GO at this point.
Really sad, because I had SO MANY wonderful ideas for a completely homemade Christmas gift exchange this year and none will likely come to fruition. Not unless I can somehow get this house finally (and completely) unpacked while trying to make up for lost schooling time and celebrating holidays and canning those 8 bushels of apples in my mudroom.
(Actually, I am hoping that many of those bushels will overwinter, as they are very good keepers.) But three absolutely need to be used-and stat.
My, am I chatty!
(PS. That flannel is beautiful...it will make lovely jumpers methinks. Do share when they are ready!
Rebecca, I LIKE chatty! I am racking my brain for a good spot to keep my machine up (half the battle is getting it out and set up). I thought I had one, but after trying I realized there was barely room for the stand, let alone me! Have fun unpacking, I'd come help if I could!
I wish mine had curl, or wave. Mostly just fuzz in the humidity down here. I'm gonna have lidda cut it when she's down here next week. I like the 'wash and go' aspect of a pixie cut. Not sure if I could pull it off, though... It would most certainly give Jud a heart attack, haha! I remember when you had your's, it looked great on you!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweets! The last of the pies are in the oven, and it's only half-past midnight. (I suppose procrastination isn't something to brag about, but I needed to explain why in the name of all that's good I'm on the internet at this lonely hour.)
Please do show the finished products, if only to pinch those of us (er...me) who spend all year on our proverbial sewing duffs. I love the doll you made for Muffin, too! So much inspiration here...
Also, because it's Thanksgiving Day, thank you for sharing the cleaning spray recipe. I bought some of that fancy schmancy Mrs. Meyer's soap yesterday, and I'll be mixing up a batch soon.
............... Dear Bonnie, I want to say that I enjoy your blog. I don't have near as much time as I'd like to come by and comment, but just know I enjoy my peacful visits here:) Happy Thanksgivng
Welcome to Crabapple Pond! I'm Bonnie; I'm 33, wife of 9 years to B., and momma to Honey-8 yrs., Biscuit-6 yrs., Muffin- 4 yrs., Beans-2 yrs., and Sprout- born late summer 2012.
We live on a small wanna-be "back-yard farm" in the rural Mid-West, and have a few acres with-you guessed it- crabapple trees and a pond.
I am a born again Christian, and I strive to serve Christ through my family.
